The 20 Best Practices
That Keep Errors From Reaching Patients

How Many Do You Use Every Day?

The SentinelSM system is a complete pharmacy error reduction program that incorporates 20 “Best Practices” that when used routinely, should prevent errors. And while it is inevitable that some errors will still be made, the regular use of the 20 “Best Practices” will serve to reduce the number of errors that reach the patient.

Spend More Time With Your Patients
Because You’re Spending Less Time Correcting Errors

A survey of pharmacists and technicians using the SentinelSM system found that it only takes 23 seconds to document a Quality Related Event (an error or “near miss”) and 3-5 minutes at the end of each day to enter that data into the Quality ManagerSM online reporting system.

You Shouldn’t Have to Bring Your Pharmacy to a Halt
Just to Implement a Continuous Quality Assurance System

The SentinelSM system is designed in modules so that you can implement the entire system start to finish, or you can pick and choose which elements of the workflow apply to your own practice. This way, you can completely standardize the dispensing process, or you can use the program as a way to fill holes within your current process.

The SentinelSM system has a seamless integration process that allows you to incorporate the processes into your workflow all at once in one week, or gradually over four weeks.

A 1-800 customer service line is provided where you can get assistance from our staff with any implementation issues.

We make the implementation process foolproof by including a fully interactive CD training program so that you and your staff can learn the system at your own pace. You’ll be able to stop when necessary and go back to the program when there is time to learn. Review sessions built into the CD program will allow anyone who has been away from the training for a period of time to refresh his/her memory up to the point that he/she left it. The reusability of the CD also allows you to train new personnel as they come on board.

The best practices are not only outlined in the training manual and on the training CD, they are also listed on laminated cards that are placed at each station of the dispensing process; that way you and your staff can refer to them as you work every day and practice them until the best practices become best habits.
