Support with Third Party Requirements
Managed care organizations, regulatory bodies or other entities may have reason to want to know if a pharmacy is actively participating in a Continuous Quality Improvement program.  The Alliance for Patient Medication Safety (APMS) has adopted the following criteria for determining if a pharmacy is considered “Active” with the PQC™ program. A pharmacy  can print an ACTIVE certificate on the Main PQC™ page, after logging in, if they follow the “active criteria” below.

Active Status explanation
Pharmacies using the Pharmacy Quality Commitment (PQC™) program are encouraged to continuously track Quality Related Events (QRE) and report them online on a daily basis.
It is recognized that some pharmacies may have circumstances which necessitate that online reporting be done a less frequent basis, for example weekly, but we stress that a continuous evaluation of the processes in the pharmacy is the best way to reduce error.

Active Pharmacy with the Pharmacy Quality Commitment Program

A pharmacy will be reported to be an “Active” pharmacy after it has reported QRE data using APMS’s online Quality Manager system at least one time per week for three consecutive weeks.

A pharmacy will no longer be reported as “Active” if the pharmacy has not reported any data using APMS’s online Quality Manager system for three consecutive weeks.
